THE ARTIST
Hey, I'm so happy you're here! I'm Abby. I am a self-taught fineline artist, who specializes in florals, ornamentals and dabbles in realism. I have always had a passion for art from a young age. I became a Beauty Technician, specializing in Lash Extensions & Lash Lifts right out of High School. I really enjoyed providing women with services that made them feel confident, but always felt it lacked the self expression aspect. I got my first tattoo when I was 18 and fell in love with the idea of decorating my body in a way to express myself. Years later I decided to put my creativity into learning the art of tattooing. I now strive to help women decorate their bodies with unique art that tells a story and show cases their personalities from the outside.
On my spare time you'll find me obsessing over my next art project or spending hours on my oddity frames. Anything that feeds into my creativity makes me happy. I also love reading, drawing, painting and building things! I have a slight obsession with crystals and anything that feeds my energy. I'm a huge people person and love getting to know my wonderful clients!
THE SPACE
Welcome to Obsidian Ink! A Private Tattoo Shop located just outside of Kensington, NW Calgary. Our goal is to eliminate the overwhelming, intimidating atmosphere from old school tattoo shops and allow our clients to feel safe, comfortable and understood.
Obsidian is a small cozy space, allowing for 3 artists max to avoid over crowding for clients who feeling overwhelmed or over stimulated easily. We have a *complimentary* stocked drink fridge, snack cart and coffee/tea station for clients as well as free street parking outside of the shop.
